Agree with you casey00 but one thing going on this cowtown is that some of the successful refugee claimants are now starting out their new enterprise of locating 'seminars', and sending invitaions and that kind of human trafficing business- sort of illegal manpower supply business in canada, and to my knowledge they charge sth like 8 to 12 lakhs NRs to aspirant 'refugees' in nepal. this only helps to make the whole community look bad, right? regarding job prospectives in IT, as far as my knowledge goes, if you are in low-level programming and embedded systems, there is good news- canada is one of the world leaders in cybernetics: in par with, if not better than, japan. and the industry is pretty large in ontario. fyi, the famous robotic arm in the space shuttle is called 'canadarm', entirely made in canada. But, for high level programming and stuffs like MIS and web technologies, the market is kind of saturated.
