Democracy is very basic and simple thing. You don?t to be ph. D. to understand. Perhaps other system you need to advance education to understand. So why are we blaming culture tradition?. It is just an excuse. I remember panchy used to make same excuse saying ?we have our own kind of democracy. Like hawa matto suwado. All authoritarian govt say they have their kind of democracy. Freedom democracy is universal. Given chance everyone wants to live a free person. Democracy and freedom are not pewa of any countries or group. If culture and traditions are roadblock of democracy, then India would never be democratic country because India has more traditions culture, languages, and religions.
