Czech Chief Calls Techno Fans 'Dangerous Anarchists' Czech Republic Prime Minister Jiri Paroubek has defended local riot police who used water cannons and tear gas to break up an outdoor dance festival last weekend, claiming most revellers were 'no dancing children but dangerous people'. The Social Democrat leader told local newspaper Lidove Noviny that the thousand strong unit of heavily armed paramilitary police had only being defending themselves against the techno fans who he described as' obsessed people with anarchist proclivities and international links' who "provoke massive violent demonstrations, fuelled by alcohol and drugs, against the peaceful society" (BBC).
