Nepe, I enjoyed reading your above posting. Here, your thoughts are similar to mine -- and having travelled and worked quite a bit across South Asia in the last one year, I say that we have to find ways to ride the Indian (and the Chinese) boom. You write: "I heard somewhere that Bhutan's diplomacy was much superior than Nepal's as shown in the case of refugees. " Bhutan's diplomats are sharp, speak excellent English, and appear to have been educated at St. Whatever schools of Darjeeling . . . followed by college/university in the US/UK, and returned home to join diplomatic service. India, Bangladesh and Pakistan have schools to train future diplomats. Meantime, Nepal's best and the brightest go to the West, and stay there, with their face forever pressed against the outside glass looking on in Nepal. oohi ashu
