Pokhara is a pristine town without any pollution at all. It is the foresight of the people here that polluting three wheeler auto-rickshaws were never allowed to ply the roads. The streets are wide and lined with trees; there is always a room for all kind of vehicles and much too common morning and evening walkers. The town has developed a very modern and upscale architecture style in housing. People take pride in cleaning their streets first thing in the morning and there is always an unannounced competition going on to decorate one's front lawn with the best of ornamental plants and flowers. It is for this reason that Pokhara emerges as a garden city in Nepal. Pokhara undoubtedly has highest per capita eating places in the country. The choice of cuisine and price range is very wide. The supermarkets in Pokhara are one of the best stocked in the country. Technology is always at hand. The latest gadgetry available in the west finds its way into Pokhara at jet speed. Presence of information technology could be felt on wailing the streets. Every street boosts of a cyber cafe. The local cable operators offer a wide selection of television programs. In off the campus activities, Pokhara has the best of both worlds. The lake side district of the city has pubs, bars, discos and indoor sports bars. For the nature lovers, there is a choice of hiking, biking, fishing and flora and fauna watching. For the sport inclined, there is boating, horse riding, paragliding, power gliding and ballooning available. In a nutshell, Pokhara has everything it takes to make memories of the student to cherish life-long. The place is going to be the hub for quality tourism in Nepal. Nurtured by the goddess lake Phewa and watched over by the fatherly peak of Fishtail mountain, it is going to be the first preference for the high spending tourists from all over the world.
