I guess going for a visa interview is a guessing game in my experience and differs in each individual case. In my case, my scholorship was just a small fraction of the total cost per year. The consuler did not get deep into how I'll meet the costs and the consuler had very brief questions about it. The consuler was more interested in my previous school and my academic background and how closely it matches up with the major I was taking in the US university. In all, I did not spend more than 4-5 minutes talking to the consuler and I was stamped in and rest is history.
