MARRIAGE

In most cases, we are tremendously more forgiving towards family than anyone else. But why? You aren't legall obligated to be that way. You aren't legally obligated to keep in touch with your parents once you leave to go start your life. There is no legal obligation for us to help these people when they are old and need assistance. But we do. Even when they piss us off -- we will be there for them if they need us. Why? Because they are family. Marriage is the beginning of a family. It doesnt require kids. It's saying to your spouse that they are no longer a person I am dating or someone I am living with, but they are family. The same un-biased love and incredible patience and tolerance you show with family is now shown to your spouse. When you think of words like father, mother, brother, daughter, or son ... we think family. Yet I think for many people they put the words husband and wife in a different category. It shouldn't be that way. Of course if you are not close with your family then its easy to see why you would see no use in marriage. But if you believe in family and not in marriage then I am of the opinion that you are looking at marriage incorrectly. Just my thoughts.
