I can?t believe I missed this thread although I am life time member of Sajha :-) Thank you Ashu ji, preeti ji, Ebaje ji and marisch ji for your good words. I was looking for an old thread where we discussed improvements in annual Poetry Festival when I was President of INLS but was not able to find it and ran into this thread. I guess sajha no longer keeps archives. There is no question that Sajha has also contributed in expansion of INLS Global Network. I would like to thank San ji again for his help and support to INLS. Here is first announcement made it Sajha in 2002 to call for Chapter and reps of INLS: http://www.sajha.com/sajha/html/OpenThread.cfm?forum=4&ThreadID=5937 A simple idea at that time was to carry forward following education program (WNEP) in addition to establishing the tradition of celebrating Bhanu Jayanti etc in each Nepali community of Diaspora working together with local community and organizations: http://www.sajha.com/sajha/html/newsdetail.cfm?itemid=418 A Nepali School in DC called "School of Languages and Cultures of Nepal" was formally inaugurated in September 15, 2002 as a part of WNEP program and it has been running successfully for three years now. The upcoming new team of INLS DC Nepali Education Committee (INLS DCNEP) are already thinking about offering Nepali music and Newari language classes in addition to Nepali language and dance classes in this School. INLS Chapters in Colorado, Texas, Arizona etc are also running the School in collaboration with other local organizations there. There was good response from Diaspora for networking and everyone was ready to unite and contribute whatever they can to keep Nepali identity alive and vibrant around the world for generations to come. This trend still continues. I welcome everyone to visit inls.org and signup for free. It is open to anyone around the world. If anyone is interested in joining INLS Global Network as INLS representative or would like to open a Chapter, please send an email to info@inls.org By the way, here is short news of this year's Literary Festival 2005 at the ANA convention for everyone's information if you have not seen it. INLS Texas Chapter in Dallas did an excellent job in coordinating this Literary Festival and even added one more award that will be given every year in this event. http://www.nepalipost.com/main.html#832 Thanks to ANA, NST and INLS Texas Chapter for working together in making the literary event successful this year. INLS NY Chapter is already planning for next year's literary event in NY. To contact new york chapter directly, send an email to ny@inls.org or visit their website http://newyork.inls.org ( It is under construction. I think Chapter webmaster is currently in Nepal now but I am sure they will update it) Finally, I would like to invite everyone in DC Metro region to INLS 14th General Assembly Meeting and 192nd Bhanu Jayanti in Woodbridge, VA on coming Sunday. Friends who are interested in participating Bhanu Bhakta Memorial Vollyball Competition, please contact tika_pun@hotmail.com and others mentioned in the detail announcement here: http://www.sajha.com/sajha/html/eventdetail.cfm?eventid=500 INLS-Texas friends, if you are reading this message, it would be nice if you could post some pictures of literary event. All, thanks for reading long posting. Pls correct as you read. -Puru Subedi psubedi @ gmail dot com
