Sad citizen. July 3rd. 05 Whenever Satish is asked if he ever would like to return Nepal, he pauses. Pauses for a moment, and then answers with no answer. ?What is there to live in Nepal for, a barren land with dying bodies and uneducated fools? A land where work of fist is better than of mighty head, where culture is rooted so deep that it has decayed and has started stinking like a rotten egg. Why live there? ? ?But,? Anuja says stopping Satish?s anger on Nepal. ?But ?what?? In a sense, Satish is not wrong. What is there in Nepal to live for?. Why would a man of a tender age want to step out of his comfort home and go back to the cemetery, digging out dead bodies. He is happy here. ?But,? she says, ?Satish it is your culture, how can you say such things.? ?Such things,? he repeats with a sigh, ?what such things? I know my culture. My culture lays where selfishness drives people. Where decision is made with lust, and hunger to feed the fat stomach. I am tired, Anuja, I am tired of seeing death, tired of country?s beaurocracy, tired of Nepal. I want to forget the Nepali culture. There is no room for it even in my deep heart? She is shocked to see him speak this way. She wants to say, its people not culture, but Anuja thinks Satish is speaking of anger, not with his. Even tough she ignores every word he said, she does think for it a second: Is that true? Could it be true? More than Satish who could have known Nepal. He was at last an only son of a Minister. He has seen it all, the death, the motives and balances of checks and more checks at Swedish bank. Still with hope, she tries to convince him. ?Satish what about the language you speak, does it not give you the smell of the soil you slept in?? He laughs. ?How can you ask me such a questions? You think a person like me will worry about Nepali. For god sake?s I dot not even know all the alphabets that exist, and you tell me to take proud in that language, to remind myself of that language. That language has no damn effect on me; it is a dead language which no one in this world even recognizes.? She wants to answer, but keeps her mouth shut. Satish is a young man, in his pleasant years, in his twenties. He has been in a foreign land for almost 5 years now. He is familiar with every current happenings of Nepal; he has to atlas! His father ranks as one of the great minister. His father heads a political party that has been struggling for a year to come up with a compromise and end the violence among people forever. Satish knows his father too well. He is one damn of a clever man. His chooses his move, with carefulness and cautions. How much this corrupt man cares about the country is still a mystery, for even Satish, but he does know one thing for a fact, his father does have love for his land where his house still stands tall. To be c?.
