The famous "Kaka", for those who were in IAAS between 1990-1996, Kaka was in the first Rampur batch of veterinary graduates (conversion course), is no more. His antics with Puskar Pal, Naveen Ghimire, Tej, were memorable. A good volleyball player and susbtitute football player, he contribuited to the sports achievement of the vet students group in the interdepartment competition within IAAS. A jolly guy as he was, always ready to crack jokes in social gatherings, either in Kumardai's pasal, fupus pasal or pipal bot, his unforgotable ones in my memory are the "Katunje Bhale" of Palpa, and "Kati Ladiya,..." of his experience with a Badi damsel. Anyway, it is sad to hear the tragic incidence, can anyone post his picture to refresh memories of individual encounters with him. Pathetic as it is, as always in current Nepal, an irrepairable loss of a valuable human resource desperately needed to uplift standard of life in the remote areas. What is the justification of such killings and what good will it serve for the revolution?, I see no logigs and justification, and it is supposed to be a stop in all killing, an announcement that holds no water. Veterinary doctor among 3 killed in Bardiya KOL Report KATHMANDU, July 1 - Maoists on Friday morning relentlessly shot dead three people including a veterinary doctor working for District Veterinary Office at Gulariya in Bardiya district, the army said. Those killed include veterinary doctor Dr. Janardan Acharya, Madhav Poudel, a peon of the same veterinary office and Anuwar Khan, an Indian national from Utterpardesh, who was a dealer of buffaloes, while another Indian businessman Majar Musalman was critically injured in the shoot out spree today, reported our district correspondent. Musalman has been shifted to Nepalgunj for treatment. A group of armed Maoists who had come in cycles had shot at Acharya and two others when Dr. Acharya was engaged in his busy hours at around 8 this morning. The incident site is 700 meters from the district police office, the source said. The security forces have cordoned off the area and intensified the search operation to nab the decamping rebels, the report added. (hb)
