OK, I accept your suggestion to write clearly and simply. I did not know that words like "perverse" or "bourgeoisie" could create such a hangama on Sajha. Other than that, you'd be surprised to learn how FREQUENTLY I am really wrong about many, many things. Yes, I do keep a count. My success rate is dismal -- oops, I mean, bad. I would be an idiot and totally friendless if I started thinking of myself as "always being right" and others as "always being wrong". That said, I am fully aware that my debating/discussion tactics on Sajha could be something of a novelty, if not jarring, to some Nepalis. They then are unsure as to how to respond to my particular way of sharing/commenting on ideas. Usually, those Nepalis -- used to living in echo chambers where they receive easy approval of friends -- respond by hurling, not thoughtful criticisms of what I have to say but, personal attacks based on zero evidence, and that's OK (pun intended!). I have understood that it does take a big while for most Nepalis to get used to a free-wheeling discussion culture -- the very essence of democracy -- without resorting to stupid personal attacks. *** And, oh, by the way, as for that "English of a three-year-old" remark, let me tell you that I did NOT make that remark. I would NEVER make such a disrespectful remark. M.P -- another Sajha poster -- made that remark on another thread, to show his anger at my daring pass sopme comments on the human rights community. In future, read carefully and Please do NOT attribute things that I did not say to me. Thank you. oohi "celebrating that Shaive-triggered promotion thing" ashu
