Okay, they might be super good but why don't you sometimes just go by the title and try something new? So, that way new ones and the ones that are usually bad might even get a chance to improve, when they get some kind of person. But i also agree with you that most likely people in general not only you just look for the authors, which is fine, but my question is why do they do this?
