My mind is bored. When your mind is bored, it is suprising what does and doesn't go through it. That broken relationship, that career move, that interesting girl from your ex's social circle who you want to ask out but can't because you don't have the time or intent to engage in social damage control. All you want is a couple of phone conversations with her and maybe a dinner and a movie. You want to ask her to share her ideas, not her bed, but know one in the world will believe you. Frankly, I wouldn't have believed myself a couple of years ago because I was different person then ,but man, have I changed (aged?) since. I was a typical guy - as long as there was sex at the end of a realtionship, it was kosher. Then one day I met this girl, I thought she was the one, so I changed. I thought I was all grown up and ready to be a family guy. Companionship, love, future kids, dream house in the suburbs, the next vacation were on the forefront of my mind and everything else took a backseat. Now I am single again, doing well in my career and still have my old ambitions to dominate the world and feel pretty good about getting nowhere close to it. My god, what would I do if I was the most powerful person in the world? It's quite a handful managing a bunch of powerful personalites at work today , imagine having to manage a world with the likes of Bush and Bin Laden. Think of all the man hours you would have to spend on keeping them from each others throats. You would be spending all your time with mundane tactical things and have no time for the vision thing. You know I am going through the vision thing these days - I've broken all my previous records in reading countless management books over the last couple of months. Man, I tell you, world domination is not for me - I have more important things to do. Like what? I have no idea. But isn't that the point? Take life as it comes - why think too far ahead?
