There would be no morning P.T when it rained. We would pray to god for rain. The area of my school was kind of a desert area, so it was very dry. We would love it when it rained, we would go out and get wet and then later run inside the bathrooms. Our warden would get really mad at us. But the best was when it rained in the morning. One such day, it wasn?t exactly raining, but it looked like it would rain any minute. We got up in the morning but believe it or not the WHOLE hostel went back to sleep because we thought that there would be no morning P.T. There use to be 2 helpers of the wardens who sometimes came to woke us up. One was called "amma ji" and the other one was "aunty ji". Each hostel had separate ones. So when amma ji came to wake us up in the morning, no one in the hostel got up. We told her, "amma ji aaj morning P.T. nahi hai." If one room din get up, no one got up. So the big complainer box went and told Sanju maam about. Sanju maam got so enraged that she came to every room with Bal Sudhar. She hit us so hard that day that we literally had red marks on our thighs and it swelled up. So we got up after that and me and Anisha were getting ready to go to P.T. We were changing into out P.T skirts when Anisha started putting her hand on her forehead and saying that she was feeling dizzy. After some time she sat down on the floor and put her head on her hand."?Oii k bhayo talai?" I asked. "Chito ready ho Sanju maam room bhitra ayera tan ready bhaa dekhena bhanney feri pitai khanchas." So Anisha got up and tried to dress up. Her cupboard was right next to mine, so I was all ready with my shoes on when Anisha literally put her hand on her forehead, her head went round and round 3 times and then she landed on my foot. Well at least her head was on my feet. I got so scared "Anisha? oiii k bhayo?" She did not reply me. I tried to lift her up but she was so still. Her head was tilted to one side and her hands and fingers were crawled inwards. Every part of her body was stiff. I could not even get her hands to fold. Now Anisha was like 4 inches taller than me and weighed 10 kg more. Specially when she was stiff, I could not even get her head off my feet. I was scared to death. There was no one else in the room to help me. I knew that Sanju maam was in the corridor. So with no other choice, I started calling Sanju maam. I started shouting her name as loud as I could. Now fear makes you do things. Fear is very strong, it gives you powers that you never knew you possessed.. it might even bring the dead to life. Well maybe that's exaggeration but this is the "heights of fear" that I saw that day. Not my fear, Anisha's fear! As soon as Sanju maam came inside the room shouting "kyaa huwa kyo chilla rahi hai?" The girl that was dead on my feet, the same girl who would not bulge when I applied my full force, got up, walked to her bed and fainted again!! That is the most absurd thing I had ever seen. Sanju maam told me to go get some water for her and let her stay there through morning P.T. Later we found out that Anisha had a goiter, due to the deficiency of iodine fir which she had to get operated later. I still remember her distorted horrific face on my feet with the stiff body. And I still remember her walking to her bed and fainting. That day I found out how truly scared she was of Sanju maam.
