Before this thread exhaust it's quota of 300 postings, I just want to express my feeling about the Rally in a few lines. I am certainly happy to be a part of a historical rally that I will be talking about with my grandchildren and their children. But the most important thing to me was that despite the specific purpose of the rally geared to garner support for a moderate demand of reversing the royal takeover, I felt among the mass a strong sense of recognition, acceptance and support for "full democracy", the code word for Democratic Republic of Nepal. It is a different fact that the major speakers, either by their personal ideological disposition or due to the formal constraint of the rally, failed to talk about "full democracy" and thus failed to connect to the mass which was evident. Nayway, all in all, my faith in "full democracy" has doubled after the Rally. There will be no Jana-andolan II unless it is for "fully democracy". I am more sure about it now than I ever was. Republic : To reject the generation of incompetent leaders who have been silently justifying/compensating for their incompetence with a "father figure" of the King. Republic: To reject the King who can not live without the power. Republic: To disarm the Maoist both physically and ideologically and to mainstream them to Democracy. In short, To break the all swallowing triangle of Feudalism-Terrorism-Corruption and to build Democracy anew at last or for the first time in our history. Nepe Signing off the thread
