well said rai...i ve learnt that ppl love to stereotype around here..if one goes around listening what is being said here then the french are arrogant, so are the germans, the danes, the dutch along with the belgians are racist..blah blah..as if we nepalis were perfect ( hello ..ever seen how the ppl in the valley treat our madhise compatriots from madhesh?, one doesnt even bother to say " dai, tapai"..ppl go "madhise timro or worse ; tuh ,tero"..what do you call that ? is this not an extreme case of racism...it is a zillion times worse than the racism one finds here.. my mother had a friend from niger ..her husband was swiss and was posted in pokhara for work, she being a franco-phone and therefore a non english speaker, learnt nepali pretty fast, she understood nepali everytime when ppl used to discuss behind her back (but in her vicinity) whether she was a human being or kind of monkey....we might not be racists regarding the white but we are very racists to others..
