This is funny. My hunch is that the ratio hinges on the following: Whether my friend or enemy originated and/or posted on the thread. Whether the thread topic is sensational, inflammatory, interesting, or even completely boring. And, perhaps, whether the thread jumps back up to the top of the list of threads due to regular or sufficiently intermittent replies.
