Recent trends indicate that US is not being able to aspire Scientists, Health and IT-Professionals, Technicians as it used to do in 80's and 90's. Three most important culprits would be.. 1) Hassles in the immigration procedures, increased sense of insecurity and gradually developing hostile attitude of so called ?true Americans' towards aliens. 2) Emergence of China, India and some other Asian and South American nations (including South Africa, it is also doing fantastic economic growth and political stability) as new and promising regional powers/superpower and creating unprecedented economic opportunity to their citizens thus aspiring professions of their national origin to come to their lands from US. In four years, some 25,000 Indians returned back to their home not due to lack of job or due to immigration constraints. This figure might be much larger for Chinese returning home (BRAIN GAIN for these particular nations) 3) With existing educational system (specially, high school), US is not being able to aspire its students to study Science and technology and are thus constantly failing to provide qualified individuals to meet its demand (It may take another decade or so to work on this particular problem). WHERE ARE WE (NON-IMMIGRANT STUDENTS) IN THIS PICTURE? Brain drain thus created due to reason 1 and 2 and 3 may provide an opportunity for us to feel this vacuum provided that smooth and encouraging immigrations procedures would be formulated in the future..
