Getting full scholarship is not easy for PhD in US universities. If you are looking for scholarship, I suggest you to go and talk with Fulbright people at American Center. Thats the only one I know that provides scholarship. However, some universities offer Alumuni Fellowship and international students hardly get it. If you want to try for Alumuni Fellowship, you first need to find the university that offers it. As a grand student, you can apply for Assistantship (either research or teaching) and most departments offer this. You will have to work certain hours (20 hrs max) and in return your tuition will be waived and you will get stipend for living. Thats how most international grad students make their living here in US. Keep in mind: If you have family, the stipend won't be enough to support all. There are hundreds of universities and its hard to suggest you one. I belong to quite a different field and don't know much about your area. Here is what you can do (I also did the same) Go to American Center and narrow down your search. They have state-wise university directory I guess. Search for the universities in the area you want to go. But not all universities may have the subject you want to study. Another option would be to search the universities that offer the subjcet you want to study. They have the subject-wise university directory too. I did the second approach. You will have to surf the net a lot and find out about assistantships/fellowships they offer. Remember that admission is competitive, especially when one is looking for Assiatantship. Most universities require 1100+ combined GRE score and 600+ (250+ computer-based) TOEFL score. If you are applying for Teaching assistantship you will have to take TSE exam. But you should not worry about this as most universities have the testing facility and you can take the test once you arrive in the universities. The process is lengthy and you will have to submit all documents at least 8 months prior the semester you want to start. Work on it and I will be more than happy to help you if you need any help. But remember one thing: I have gone thourgh this pain and I want to help genuine Nepali students, at least by providing reliable information. I have seen people joking in Sajha Forum. If you are also doing the same and the day I find this out, remember, none will get help from me regarding this matter in future. By the way, you are already late for Fall semester but you still have enough time for Spring. Convince me that you are genuine student and I can give you my personal emial so that we can communitate more efficiently. Good luck.
