There are plenty of jobs in in civil and environmental engg. I dont know other fields in engg. In environmental hot fields are waste water management and water quality. In civil- structure (but it is difficult without PE in structural design), and construction are in hot list as far as I know and many of my friends are working in these fields. For water quality and resources Southeast states (FL, GA, SC,NC, TN), and South West are good ones. For other Civil engg, you can find anywhere. My advisor told me that job market in civil and env engg is less affected by econmy up and down, comapred to other computer and business related jobs.
