The question about cross culture marriage or interracial wedding to be precise... highly depends upon ways of beliefs. Being a brahmin by origin, I find comfort in looking for a consort who thinks like me, has similar culture and social obligations. But it is not necessarily true at all times. If I am attracted to to a dravidian female and am adamant to spend my life with her... all these petty details are thrown out of the window. Love and commitment turn the tables. However, things would seem far more easy if she would be from my culture, has similar cognitive status and speak same tongue. I have married a 'sagotri', which is still considered a taboo in brahmin society, but despite all odds,we got married and are living happily. There were some concerns over Gregor Mendel's theory that a hybrid dominates all the identical genetic characters, but our child is in the best of health.
