I agree with most of the views of KDB and found informative. Dear All, I received two articles of Preeti Koirala and sending my response on her articles. 1, I find nothing to surprise on the poll results of Nepal Times. Why Preeti find it surprising itself is surprising to me. I feel the poll result was neither unexpected nor surprising, at the present situation. After the rampant corruption and many many wrong doings what Preeti was expecting? Peoples will support the corrupt, nefarious leaders?. The second poll results show the choice of the Nepalese people is constitutional monarchy showing clearly the Nepalese people love democracy and are against the authoritarian rule, but do not tolerate the corrupt, power hungry visionless dacoits (present day leaders) in the name of democracy. 2, What India wants is her choice. India always conducts foreign policy based on the interest of the India itself which is very natural in my opinion. As most of our so-called leaders are nothing but puppets of India, she has enough leverage over almost all the political parties of the country. It is natural with such puppet leaders in Nepal, India is able to have the upper hand in almost all treaties and projects. Preeti must have noticed how easily Nepalese parliamentarian can be bought and how easily India could pass the Mahakali Treaty in the dark of midnight. For India it is natural to protect its own interest, which she is very successful as our own leaders are easily saleable with very few exceptions. Since 1950 through the Panchayat and the period after 1990, India was able to dictate Nepal in its favor. Remember how easily the Banbasa - Koilabas road contract was cancelled from Chinese contractor and given to India on its pressure. Today all the projects mentioned by Preeti is provided to India as before without any problem because majority of Nepalese leaders are puppets of India. At times, the puppets leaders protest against such treaties only to fool the people and to camouflage their pro-Indian identity. Such scenario was there during the panchayati period and was continued in the last 15 years and will continue for coming 50 years also until new leaders of integrity are established in all the political parties. However, do not think that if Parliament was there it would have been difficult for India to get all the mentioned projects. This is wrong interpretation, as we have seen what happened in the Mahakali treaty and how it was passed in the dark of Midnight under the Indian pressure in the parliament. I agree with Preeti that India wants the unstable and week governance in Nepal to protect its entire overt and covert agenda. Not only that, India will do whatever necessary to make the Nepalese government unstable, corrupt and weak. We all know about the secret meeting of Nepalese political leaders in the Indian embassy where the S.B.Thapa had fainted. According to the published reports the Indian ambassador was instigating the puppet leaders to fight against the king and to start another agitation and destroy the government properties and create chaos in the capital. We also know how the so-called Nepalese leaders are staying in India and requesting the Indian government to blockade the boarder! If this is the character of our so-called leaders what you can expect from such political parties other than looting the government treasury. Do you see any difference between our so-called leaders and hoodlums? 3. Where does Preeti expects our so-called leaders like S B Thapa to faint ? For me the Indian Embassy is the right and appropriate place for People like Thapa to faint, the place of their god-father? India will back not only Thapas but any of its puppets to protect its own interest. It is immaterial to India who is premier of Nepal as long as it obeys its order and will be ready to do any thing for India's interest. 4 Yes this hypocrisy of Nepalese leaders is the root cause for their present day hatred of of the public towards the leaders. The opinion, ideology and view of all the so-called leaders differ drastically when they are in power and when not in power. They want republican state, constituent assembly, reducing the palace's privilege and salary, and many other progressive steps when they are not in power and reject all such demands made by them when they are in power and lick the boot of the king by increasing palace's salary and privileges. I think Maoist will be ready to discuss with the political parties to come to some agreement provided the so-called leaders are able to maintain their ideology, viewpoint or opinion whether they are in power or not. Even after 10 long years of insurgency, the political parties are unable to put forward their clear opinion and views on the Maoist's insurgency and their 50 points, demand of the constitutional assembly, and are not able to define them as political power or as a terrorist force? This suggest the political parties of Nepal are nothing but bunch of corrupt people who are in politics just to loot the country and are fooling the innocent democracy loving citizen of Nepal and their hard working cadres. As long as the present day corrupt leaders are in control of political parties the possibility of peace in the country is remote. Everybody saw in the NTV how Deuba was shouting for constituent assembly when not in power and how he shifted and went against the constituent assembly when in power. Same was the case with the UML also, when they were agitation with the five parties; they had one opinion and changed their opinion 180 degrees when they were in power. Can any sensible person trust such nefarious leaders and support them now? I do not think so. During the last 15 years the political leaders showed their double faces much more than anybody or any other group. It was political parties who first proclaimed the emergency in the country, labeled the terrorist tag on the Maoist, introduced the anti-democratic Bill in the name of anti- terrorist Bill in the parliament, forced the army to suppress the Maoist, and engaged themselves in looting the country. They made people like Chand and Thapa, the notorious panchas, Prime Ministers of the country, accepted them as their leaders, dissolved the parliament for their petty interest, and looted the country in various pretext like medical treatment, and donation to political victims, visited Bangkok in the name of medical treatment in government expenses, bundles the MPs in hotel room like sheep, etc. If such people are so called leaders of the country and democracy what we can except from them other than degeneration of the country? The Maoist are neither from outside the country nor from other planet, but are the bona fide Nepali and are engaged in struggle, because they are poor, exploited since last 100 years, can not afford to have two meals a day, illiterate, marginalized and always side lined by every government even after 50 years of so-called democracy, and want to have decent living like every person of this world. The Maoist whom, present government consider as terrorist, on the advice and pressure of USA and India, are all Nepalese people who have taken the wrong track to violence, due to the lack of proper education and awareness. They are not terrorist by birth, or by culture, or ideology but because they are poor, can not afford to go to school, have two meals a day, and are exploited by so-called upper class for centuries, and hope for the better life and are ready to sacrifice their life for the expected better future of coming generation, through insurgency. To link such poor, always exploited, illiterate, and marginalized people with any ideology (Communism), group (Maoist), profession (Terrorist) and to tag them as terrorist is nothing but intellectual bankruptcy. Yes, their modus operandi is deplorable, and violence activities needs strong condemnation and they must be brought to main political stream as early as possible. The million $ question is how to bring them in normal track. By killing every tagged Maoist as envisaged by the present government or through peace talks as suggested by the intellectuals of the country. I am for the peace talk and against the militarily suppression. Why blame India for showing double face? That is the name of game called politics. The USA has shown double face also. Here we must not fall in the trap of USA by believing her claim of fighting the war against terrorism. Rather USA is spreading terror all over the world and creating terrorist like Bin Laden secretly, as we all know he was a pampered boy of USA. The present day rhetoric of USA against the terrorism is just to fulfill the desire of being the world's only super power. The total destruction of Iraq, and Afghanistan, in false excuse, (arms of mass destruction) and war against terrorism is already been seen by world. Now USA is looking for similar excuse to attack Iran (In the name of Nuclear arms) and China (In the name of independenc of Taiwan) and Nepal (In the name of Maoist's insurgency) and North Korea (Being the communist country). Remember how the UK declared war when the tiny island Falkland tried for its independency from the colonist UK, falsely charging that it was a separatist movement of Falkland. Today the same UK and USA are against China and supporting Taiwan in their separatist movement calling the movement as independence movement. What does Preeti thinks about India's support to separate Bangladesh from its long time enemy Pakistan? Was it a support for separatist movement or India's dedication towards the democracy? If so why Kashmir, Punjab, Darjeeling, Bhutan, Nagaland, Goa etc are forced to stay within India. Such double face are very natural for big powerfull countries like USA, INDIA,UK etc and is crime and against the democracy for poor and weak countries like Nepal, Falkland, Kashmir, Darjeeling, etc. In this context only fools should believe that the foreign countries seriously want to develop Nepal. I do not believe such stupid theory and strongly believe that we Nepali must develop our own country and that is possible with unity and mutual cooperation only. The foreigners will do nothing without their overt or covert agenda. What is the harm if there is no blast since last 1st February? Why Preeti wants blast in the city to trust Maoist? You do not have to blast bomb to proove that you are power full. What is the wrong, if some understanding take place between King and Maoist and the peace prevails in the country. How does the unilateral or bi-lateral cease-fire will harm the country? And how and why does it will show true face of the Maoist?. All peace loving Nepali will be happy if some secret talks are undergoing between King's representative and Maoist to bring peace in the country, and cease-fire are declared as early as possible. If the widely discussed leadership conflict within the Maoist party is true, then it must be considered as the natural venting of two sets of ideology existing within the Maoist and it will help to bring peace talk in the country. I see nothing wrong in that, because ideological conflict in politics is very natural and a normal feature and sign of saturation of the tolerance by both the ideologically different group. Preeti must know better as her Congress has divided in two. 6 I am glad at least one member of Koirala family was strong enough to condemn Indian leaders openly (I presume Preeti belongs to Koirala family, as she has expressed Sandaju to BP). Yes, NC first must disassociate itself with Indian leaders and should expel all of its corrupt and power hungry leaders from the NC. This applies also to Sadvabana Party. NC and Sadvabana need to elect new, honest, energetic, visionary leaders who have the courage to say what they really believe irrespective of the consequences. Preeti must have understood that with the corrupt leaders like Khum Bd, Joshi, Basnet, Sujata, Laxman, Ranavat, Mahat,. Acharaya, and scores of other as Congress Leaders, no public will support the NC. People get nausea when they see such corrupt people as leaders in the NC. 7 I fully agree that it was an insulting act to demand for blockade of our boarder. Such insulting things happen in Nepali politics regularly because most of the Nepalese leaders are puppets of India and are pumped financially as well as politically by their god-father. To consider such bunch of fools, who do not have any ideology as leaders is the insult to the word "leadership". 8 What Lok Raj Baral considers well for the country he will say that This is his freedom and sovereign right, not given by any nefarious leaders, but inherited from a free citizen of a free country. What Preeti thinks well for the country she can express without any hesitation, how ever to suggest what Baral should do and not do, is not her business. If Baral considers the demand of the Maoist as being right he can support the demand of the Maoist. It is his sovereign right to support them. 9 To bar any Nepali citizen fromtheir right to travel in the pretext that Modi is not allowed to visit USA is stupid logic. If countries like India and USA do all the stupid things and undemocratic and inhuman activities like the USA has done in the Prison of Iraq "Abu Gharib," do Preeti want us to follow that and consider such action good enough simply because it is done by India or USA. For me what Nepal should do and should not do must be based on some logic and democratic norms irrespective of what India or USA do. Our journalist and intellectuals should support any such demand, which is good for the country. Whether the demand comes from Maoist or NC or King, does not matter. Because the journalist and intellectuals are not puppets of the corrupt political parties, they should analyze things themselves and decide what is good and bad for the country and support them based on the interest of the country. Only the puppets of the political parties and the nefarious leaders will support the political parties blindly. But true intellectuals of the country will support issues and demands based on their respective value to the good of Nepal irrespective as to the source, whether it be from the King, the Maoists, or the Political Parties.
