thanks sis.. la next episode.. rest later... hehe It was January 1997, quite cold. I had just completed my seventh standard and was excited to go to India. I kept thinking about my to-be school. Fantasizing about how it would be fun. My brother was not as happy as I was, but we had no choice. We went to every place my parents had heard of. Roorkee, Simla, Chandigarh, Dehradoon, Jaipur.. and where not. Every school had something that my parents did not agree to, or I did not agree to. The reason of my disagreement though was that I had a friend that had joined an Indian institute the previous year. I was scared out of my wits to go somewhere I did not know anyone. So, I talked my parents into going there. We reached Delhi, and reserved a car to take us to Hisar. It took us four and a half hours to reach the school. All through the journey all we saw was ?khet? and empty plots.. I still remember the expression on my mom?s eyes. She was scared of sending me to a school which was so isolated. All I could think about was that at least I would not be alone there. My mom even told me that though we were going there for my sake but there were negligible chances of me getting admitted there. I could feel my heart sinking as she said those words. When we stepped inside the school it was like an oasis in a desert. The buildings were huge and incredible. There were a total of three hostels, an auditorium, a school dining hall, a dispensary, Phone booth, skating rink, hockey field, running field, a swimming pool, play ground, guest house.. and what not. I was impressed! The only drawback was that it was a girls school and PURE VEGETERIAN!! I took the admission test and was immediately admitted. I was due to be back there on April. We went back to Nepal and waited for the time when I would go back. I had no idea what I would be facing the next year in school. That was when the real fun started!!...
