Water Day

I breezed through the World Water Day, almost with a nostalgia in me for the name of the day. Today all of a sudden I realized how difficult it is for my mother back home to get a ghainto of water. She wakes up at 2 o'clock to see if the tap has started running. It is a shame on me. And it should be a shame on all sajhaites, too. How fast we humans forget bad things... our folks care about the king and his adventure, but what about the people... This World Water Day is so much a matter of concern to every Nepali, and yet we almost forget this kind of things. Maybe it makes sense to rally a mass of Nepalese living in the DC area, fully equipped with a playcard each, asking for water for the people of Nepal and send a select delegate to meet the officials of the White House pledging the president for providing clean drinking water for us in Nepal. It is better to ask for water for the people than power for our king! (Forget about peace for now.. it is nowhere in sight)!
