The purpose of our visit to Hokitika was to participate in " Wild food festival"where I found the wildest and the craziest food u can ever imagine... to name the few were ..( lets start from decent ones - venison, eel, ostrich, horse, whitebaits, Emu, .. did u feel that was just ordinary food?? then here it comes possum meat, shark, snails, sea gulls.... Ok more..goat testicles, cow's tits,bulls balls, pig's penis ...I should stop now. Did I try some? Yeh I did quite a few... I tried Emu kebab, oysters, whitebaits...I couldn't go for the hard cores.... And there were lots and lots of alcohol.. It was great fun... to see people go crazy with eating wild food and drinking wild drinks.
