SC summons foreign companies on fertilizer scam - http://kantipuronline.com/kolnews.php?&nid=31578 KOL Report KATHMANDU, Feb 15 - Supreme Court on Monday has summoned three foreign companies in connection with fertilizer scam that involves the current Home Minister Dan Bahadur Shahi. Shahi is among the defendants in a corruption case filed at the court by Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA). The CIAA has alleged Shahi who was a secretary at the Ministry of Agriculture and Padma Sundar Lawati the erstwhile Minister of embezzling around Rs.67 million while importing fertilizer through the Agriculture Inputs Corporation in 2052 B.S. The corporation had given the contract of importing fertilizers to Nepal from three foreign companies based in Bangkok, United States and India respectively. (dds)
