It is NOT the King's job -- or for that matter, the job of the King-led cabinet -- to take actions against the vrastacharis no matter how much we dislike these vrastacharis. I hate to say this, but I can easily imagine the likes of Ramesh Nath Pandey taking their "badala" against their enemies by calling them vrastacharis and what not at this moment. You can't change human nature for being what it is; (and no, I am NOT related to any vrastacharis on the list!) As it is, what the King has done (i.e. usurp power like this) is questionable AT BEST, to put it mildly. On top of that, he now wants to BROADEN his mandate to get into bits of so-called good governance too. The king is not stupid, yes; but he's not Superman either. The point is: In times like these, you can't have too many agenda on the plate. Yes, Nepal has tons of problems, but this is NOT the time to deal with all of them. Dealing with all of Nepal's ills at this time would just waste time, divert attention, dissipate resources and tire everyone. Better to focus EXCLUSIVELY on the STATED GOAL of defanging the Maoists as quickly as possible (assuming that's indeed trump card) and then quickly return the country to the pre-October 4 2002 era.
