King Gyanendra is on notice that he will be held responsible for infringement of the rights of free speech and assembly, or abuses of citizens who have defended human rights and democracy. hear hear.....but who enforces this accountability? i personally think he couldn't care less if the us withdrew aid, as long as he has total control. he has not worried about pissing off the indian govt,( a bold move) the chinese are obviously on his side... seeing as he kept his part of the bargain in closing the tibetan offices. they will therefore offer their full support. conspiracy theories aside it's obvious the chinese govt used the tibet issue as a bargaining chip in orderto recieve their support. pakistan will do exactly the opposite of what india does. therefore they support gyane. bhutan is irrevalant if he is prepared to stick it up to the west. i personally think we can rant and rave, but all it boils down to is one man and his word. three years and a promise to deliver. lets hope he keeps it. interesting times'
