I think you are absolutely right in saying that if GP and Makune play the right card, it could be the begining of an end to the Monarchy in Nepal. The question is: do they have guts to play the right card? This is a direct challenge to the Maoists and the political parties. It would be interesting to see if these entities are ready to take king?s challenge. I call this situation a pathway for an easy ganatantra, just like the BAHUDAL of 2046. But I am not banking on the courage of Nepali leaders to take this challenge. This is the best sankraman from which republican set up could be harvested without jeopardizing multi-party spirit.
