Simply put, Matla = the first 'Sher' in a gazal and Makta = the last 'Sher' used in a gazal. For example, in the above gazal, "Hall Gariyo......Feridaichha" is Matla and "Abasarbadko khel....Feridaichha" is Makta, which includes 'Posh' as Takhallush. Each line (Pankti) is Misra and Sher is each unit of a gazal consisting of two lines. In each Sher, the words such as Bat, Hat, Rat are called Kafiya.
