Matrix Rose, found the recipe of Sweet/Sour Karela but found somewhere in an Indian Website. Mero Budhi lai pani naaune raicha. Bichara le kahan kahan bhauju haru lai phone garera sodhya hai...kehi lagena ..ani maile esso web search garya ta kaam lagyo. Sweet and Sour Karela Ingredients 1/2 kg Karels ( bitter gourd) 4 tbps chilli powder 1 tbsp tumeric powder a lemon sized ball of tamarind lemon sized ball of jaggery salt to taste For seasoning: 2tbsps. of oil 1 tsp. mustard seeds 1/2 tsp fenugreek ( methi seeds) 1/4 tsp asafoetida(hing) 8-10 green chillis 1 sprig curry leaves Method: 1. Cut the karela into thin slices, apply salt and keep it aside for 3-4 hrs. (You could do it overnight too). 2. Squeeze out the awter and deep fry till crisp. 3. Drain and keep aside. Soak tamaring in hot water and extract juice and keep aside. 4. Fry mustard in 2 tbsp of oil. When the seeds splutter add fenugreek, asafoetida, curry leaves and small slices of green chillis, chilli and tumeric powders. 5. Add jaggery and tamarind juice. When the gravy thickens add the fried karela slices and remove from fire. 6. Serve hot with chappatis, rotis or nans. HOPE THIS WORKS....LEMME KNOW
