"The kid did his job of throwing the rocks at the police and the RIOT POLICE did it's job of controling the violent crowd. " ---------------> The pic doesn't show that. He could have been stuck there. Wrong place at the wrong time. If not anything, give him the benefit of doubt. "The RIOT POLICE, by the very name itself is meant to control violent and unruly crowd by using brute force. Violence, haste, dis-order is the indespensible part of their job then why should I expect any RIOT POLICE personnel to discriminate between the adult and kid in the situation of haste, violence and dis-order. " -------------> Agreed, they should not be expected to DISCRIMINATE. I hope you use this word for some other better purpose as well. You seem to be settled in ur point of view and judgement. But think about it, what if the kid was ACTUALLY an innocent victim, just being at the wrong place. Would u not feel for him? Not even a lil bit? I bet u do, somewhere inside. Common we are humans afta all. Esp. coz the pic only shows a CHILD being/abt to be hit by a trained police with a huge stick. It could be FATAL as well. Lets us not close our eyes on the possibilities of fatalities caused by such beatings or perhaps some physical diability. "I guess the kid jumped into the hot frying pan despite the full knowledge that the fring pan is really hot. The kid got fried in the hot frying pan. RIOT POLICE is the frying pan in this case. " ----------------------> Do u really think so? He had full knowledge of what he was getting into? Please consider the fact----> He barely seems to in his teens, if at all. Now we all know what sound a judgement we all make at that age. Are u not denying a child his right to, well... "to be a child", by simply giving him a benefit of doubt regarding his judgement. Commonnnnnnnnn... a kid at that age can not really make a REASONABLE judgement like an adult can. I do agree about the pressure on police, the risk they take, the protection they have to give, with fully understanding there are some bad apples within them as well. But they risk their life and their families safety, for what? , a mere few thousand rupees. For most of the people living abord, it would amount to mere day's works pay, if not hrs. They deserve respect and we have to understand their situation as well. But in this specic situation, my friend, you got to give to that kid. If anything, that picture captured a moment that took away a child in him, perhaps. Of all the beauties in life, don't u think a beautiful childhood is most that we miss most? I hope that kid is safe and does not have any permanent damage/ scars, both physically/mentally. To respect of humanity and knowledge of peace to US ( Nepalese) IndisGUise :O
