Although they all sound plausible, we should take it with a pinch of salt. However, what cannot be digested is the statement of the incompetent competent Prime Minister justifying the hike in fuel price to support the security budget. Damn it, why don't you chop off the cost of the royalties and top heavy royal Nepal army? What is the justification of 80% royal budget last year when the same percentages of royalties are gone after the Narayanhity massacre? There is an outright anger growing among the public due to all of it; one does not have to be a political scientist to feel the pulse of the nation. I appreciate CEN thinking about the common public and for the people as far as in Humla. Why this empathy now ---one wonders. We all know that in Nepal, the politicians, administrators and royalties give a damn to common public. When it comes to the real thing, "Bhand me jae sadharan janata, mero jholi bhare bhaigo" is the real attitude. With the downward spiral of the economy and dwindling situations in the villages, there is going hardly anything to cook. There will be no need for any kind of fuel or worries for pollution. Will the clean air people be happy with the government? The most pollutants in the cities are created by the donor agencies' vehicles who take the duty free gas from their own pumps. Can the donor agencies or donor driven project vehicles be asked to maintain austerity in using the scarce fuel? May be not. These are my futya kowri worth.
