Trump called on the Iranian people to "rise up and fight" after downplaying stalled ceasefire negotiations in a Truth Social Post on Tuesday evening.

Trump, 80, took to his social media platform on Tuesday evening, providing an update on the Iran war, which surpassed the six-month mark last week, despite his initial claims that joint U.S.-Israeli military operations would last only four to five weeks.

As the war carries on and negotiations stall following a failed ceasefire attempt, the president increasingly finds himself under pressure to end the unpopular war, during which 18 U.S. troops have been killed and gas prices have skyrocketed for Americans. Both factors have contributed to Trump's dip in approval ratings ahead of the high-stakes November midterms.

However, Trump attempted to address concerns by claiming that the U.S. has the upper hand, while dismissing the need to reach a peace deal.
