Yesterday's court decision to lift the stay order on Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for Nepal dealt a devastating blow to many in our community. It’s disheartening to see some individuals on platforms like Sajha respond with insensitivity and disrespect toward fellow Nepalis facing this crisis. Many TPS recipients have called the United States home for over two decades, building families, careers, and lives here. The stress and uncertainty they now face—potential family separation and shattered dreams—are unimaginable. Let’s refrain from worsening their pain with thoughtless or hurtful comments.

We hope and pray that our Nepali brothers and sisters are spared from the severe consequences of this policy shift. While the current administration’s stance is clear, deporting individuals who have contributed to society and paid taxes for over 20 years is deeply unjust and inhumane. Let’s stand in solidarity, offering compassion and support during this challenging time.
