If you live in North then Subaru is great, their AWD is one of the best. For 12k to 16 K you might be able to find one or may be, again it depends upon your location. Currently, the used car price is skyrocketing keep on checking online listing or via dependable private party.

I also consider RockB comment on Mazda. Mazda CX-5 AWD is also best in its class for the price and reliability. Newer Mazda engine and Transmission have always been good
