Would you please help me understand this NRN thing. I have few questions, I would appreciate it if y'all can help.

Do we absolutely need to send original US naturalization certificate and original US passport when applying for NRN? The website on one page says it is required though I don't fully understand the reasoning for needing original documents and other part of website does not list those at all. What if I lost my US naturalization cert I took over 20 years ago?

Will they take away your Nepali citizenship card when they issue NRN card?

How long does the process take?

can it be applied from Nepal?
