The day, the moment you were really HAPPY

This thread has turned into a textbook case of it, if ever I saw one. Of late, there seems to be a cabal operating in sajha who have staked out most threads like mongrels in a trash heap that howl and yelp at all passing by. The once engaging kurakani now reeks of the rubbish dumped by these mutts. With their inadequacies in full display, they charge at all comers with fangs bared, high on their chosen addiction, be it pot or plain stupidity. Making no effort to learn to rise above their inadequacies, there seems ZERO effort to learn. The aim is to drag everyone down to the level of the reeking pits they inhabit. Reveling in their inferiority, they snarl when they encounter any thoughts they are unable to comprehend. If you can't hack it, LEARN. More importantly, let go of your fragile EGOs and APPRECIATE those more skilled than you. Do not ATTACK others for your own failings. Some also moan about ?complicated English? and turn their inadequacies into a burning resentment of others. Perhaps English is not our native tongue, but where does it state that no one here is allowed to communicate in anything beyond grade 7 level skills? What utter bloody rot. There is a growing band of Nepali writers who are creating an increasingly impressive body of creative work in ENGLISH. It is my intent and hope to nurture and support this group. Why shouldn?t the next Arundhati Roy or Pico Ayer be a Sitara, a Nepe or a Dipika? Why ever not? That's why I was an early proponent of the Sajha Writer's Guild. So that potential writers would have a safe and welcoming environment that would encourage their creative abilities. From the flowering talents of Dipika to the haunting poetry of Mind Games, look at how well it has taken off. Seasoned sajha readers may have observed that over the past year most of sajha's talented writers have fled to other more welcoming environs. Has anyone stopped to consider why? Like it or not, ENGLISH is the lingua franca of the world of science, technology, business and education. Even the staunchest xenophobe here either received, or aspired to, an education in an English medium school/university. And yet, this same lot finds it convenient to bang the drum of false nationalism. What rank and shameless hypocrisy. So this time the pack turns on Isolated Freak. Why automatically assume he is making fun of you just because you can?t comprehend what he?s saying? When in doubt, ASK for clarification or CONSULT with someone who is both SANE and SOBER. Which of you casting stones at him have his love of learning? So what if I disagree with his politics? I respect his disciplined approach to learning, his vast knowledge in his chosen field. He is a genuine scholar, a man of letters and learning. And, as they say in The Middle Kingdom, Isolated Freak is a CIVILIZED person. Along with freedom of expression comes the RESPONSIBILITY to put thought behind words. Free speech is NOT FREE. Someone always pays a price for it. Respect all the hard work and investment San has put into Sajha and STOP treating this place like a rubbish dump.
