Pashupati Development Trust fails to manage income - KOL Report KATHMANDU, Dec 17 - Pashupati Development Trust (PDT) has failed to properly manage the income of the temple. People visiting the temple pay homage to lord Pashupatinath have been surprised by the meager amount of the yearly income made public by the PDT. The annual income made public on last Sunday amounts to a mere 143,000 rupees only. According to a former secretary of the trust, Govinda Tandan, the amount made public is only a part of the total income that is collected in a small metal case. Of the donations and offerings to the temple, first of all reach in the hands of priests, the Mul Bhattas and the Bhandaris. Despite the incessant demands to be allowed to audit the wealth of the temple, the Auditor General has been restricted every time. Currently the Bhattas and Bhandaris receive 60 percent and the PDT receives 40 percent of the total collected income. (snn) What do we need to do to control these corrupted priests of Pashupati?
