Nepal is an amazing country not only for its cultural, geographical, and historical reasons, its people are even more amazing than all those put together. One simple example I saw in the social media yesterday was about the youths of Kathmandu who are on the street protesting in front of the Pm office in Baluwatar. While many youths have joined and supported their non-political protests that were fully disciplined and observed the safeguard against the pandemic, a group of people started accusing them of being “controlled” or “incited” from someone. What they were implying was that Nepalese have no brains, or feelings or the courage to stand up against the wrong they see in their nation.

Mind you, this is kind of a normal thing here. That is why Nepali people are amazing. For the most part, the education system is such a dismal failure that it produces citizens that have no ability to think critically or have a basic vocational skill to make a decent living, they grow up with only a single ability—to brown nose with their only talent to become “jhole” of someone higher, mostly political parties that need agitators on the streets who will blindly follow the instruction to cause social discomfort by burning tires, calling for Nepal Bandh and destroying property while also intimidating ordinary people. These kind of people are the whopping majority, hence all they can do is do their servile service in Nepal or flee abroad for menial labor jobs.

Those in Nepal, since they lack creativity and critical thinking abilities, they resort to only thing they are capable of, copying from India and abroad, mostly India. The industrialists to the same thing, and the politicians, of course, wait to please their masters abroad. Such is the low life nature of these leaders that they bow before such people as from the tiny European nations that have no clout anywhere else in the world, and throw some money to show their “power” in a rich nation with beggars elected as representatives.

The youth were not pawns as those “jholes” accused of suspected. Nagarik daily today talked to some participating youth and published their feelings for their agitation. One youth named Sachin Timilsina said, “We are totally dissatisfied with the Government performance. They are indulging in massive corruption even in this dire time. We are not pleased with the government that should have been focused on controlling the pandemic not abusing their authority…”

Another youth supported that sentiment and added, “The government has been very harsh. Poor people are suffering. The officials are abusing the fund that has come to help them, and even in this time how could they think of commissions and corruption?... Who will speak up if not us?”

So obviously, the youth are well aware of the working of this government, and they have waited long enough to say “Enough is Enough,” which was displayed in many placards. The signs that were made by the youth themselves were creative and showed their genuine concerns. They have seen utter failure, mismanagement, and corruption signifying the evil intentions of the leadership. It comes through that they were sincerely outrages at the gross abuse of power, and misplaced priorities while people suffered like caged animals.

The outrage was natural and despite the threat of prison and hefty fines, people have vowed to fight on. The good news is that the government has had to back down and actually released the details of the 10 arba that the PM had informed been spent. Naturally, as to be expected, almost 2 arba was short on the details.

When incompetent people are given responsibility, there is absolutely no chance that the work will get done competently and good results will come out. It is totally against the natural law. Only competent, honest, and people with knowledge, integrity, and possessing social well-being are competent to carry out their responsibility. This is the most amazing aspect of Nepali people. In this regard, Nepalis are worse than animals, not even aware enough to avoid threats to their own safety. They fall easily for small tricks the leaders play or the foreign nations design that stoke the flames of nationalism to mitigate other serious issues. Otherwise, how could Pashupatinath area be the venue for a church? A well-known scholar has spoken forcefully against Project Joshua-2 that aims to make Nepal a Christian nation and fund people in the Pashupatinath board. It is not that big a challenge to make fools of Nepalis. That is why the people get played like mice in the paws of a cat. Regarding MCC, those in favor at all cost argue that Nepal is a dependent nation so we must accept foreign aid. It has never occurred to them that the same argument has been going for half a century, and the mindset has to change. They never imagine or envision that just a proper management and a strong implementation of an honest policy can make Nepal into a filthy rich country within two decades. Lacking that ability and vision, their first and fall back option is to support corruption, and get away with it time and again, like in the past.

People have been well aware that more than 99 percent of the political class is suffering from a poverty mindset, and thus their aim is to amass wealth, shower themselves with perks of power, and enjoy the privileges all on the people’s behalf. Their stake to the power rests on their past years spent in prison, not their qualification for the jobs they aspire to. Yet, in this modern age, a person who used to have all the bad habits and characters like 8th-grade education, smoking, alcoholic, and an alleged adulterer is holding the top office. Looking at the opposition leader, he has a history of undermining Nepal in all areas and known to be the chief designer of many scandals. Alarmingly, worse still, he cannot even express a single thought coherently. Both the major parties are led by such dishonorable personalities, yet the people expect them to do wonders for Nepal. It is like expecting fragrance of rose to come out of the sewer with a dead rotting dog carcass in it. Isn’t that an amazing portrayal of Nepalis?

That is why when the “jholes” get to have the major say in national affairs, agitating youth of Kathmandu are accused to be following someone else’s orders, just like these filthy, worthless, brown nosers that are detrimental to social order and progress.
