Yatree, I heard about ANA more than any Nepali communities before coming to USA. Thats why I tried to get membership of it immediately after I landed here. their previous home page http://ana-home.org/, now directs to new website http://www.anaonline.org/ . I am constantly checking its website. surprisingly, the website has more stuffs in this week or so, as compared to its entire history. But, Viv gave me a hint that asked me to move to other websites of other Nepali communities. Now, I realized the position of ANA as compared to others, especially, ANMA. Though by name ANA looks more wide, but, by activities and openness, ANMA looks far ahead. I am attracted by it ANMA's prospectus and it (ANMA ) really looks great Association of Nepalis. Though I am still not in inclusion stage, but, I should thank Viv for opening me a new direction in my research, his peer review surely helps me. Before I land somewhere with my 50bucks or so, I want to make sure that I will not be disappointed by its executive members. Frankly, ANA's website still looks dumb with respect to the numbers of year it has passed. The child born along with ANA are full grown up adults and citizen, ANA's website does not look full grown citizen like stuff to get what you need to get as an independent organization, that is "Transparency", compare it with ANMA, don't make excuse "not to compare apples and oranges". My purse is fixed to its thickness, so, I am forced to select either Apple or orange, I don't have luxury of Apple or oranges not comparable. They are comparable. Lets see how far can ANA's executive body be transparent before I decide to be member of a Nepali organization? Or, I start my own? hehehehehe.... because West Virginai does not have its own Nepali community based on Google Search. We are also thinking to initiate our own society, America Nepal Society of West Virginia. Image was already drawn by my friends before I moved to WV. Before we push it to further ahead, we should better have a good affiliation with some bigger organization i.e. umbrella, so that ANSWV can be more like a chapter rather than a separate identity of few dozen or hundred members.
