Dude! They are right, coz you don't know about Nepal and Nepali how come they believe you as a Nepali. Of course, they recognize easily who is a real Nepali. And, who had left Nepal for schooling time ( I mean young age). you haven't study Nepalese history, and Nepal parichaya....... and much more. Go and read that first.
