While at the first glance, Sharma's writing comes as derisive, snooty requirement list, it is in fact a very clever, one may even say sarcastic, look at the double standard in our society. Case in point: she wants a husband who has no previous emotional or physical attachments (meaning virgin, up there and down there), but she does not want him to question her past, or her ways and have no predisposed expectations of her. One may gasp at that, but is it not so common from men's side? Even lot of Nepali guys here in the US who go home and get married expect their wife to be virgin, emotionally and sexually, while they themselves have had numerous pre-marital affairs and sexual experience while in college or elsewhere.
