I don't think dictatorship can solve any problems in Nepal. I agree with some of the points you guys have made though. If dictatorship would work, it would have worked during Ranas and Panchayat time. I think most of us are forgetting that we are being ruled under dictatorship right now. What is unique about Nepal's despotism is that we have three major sources of autocracies--Royals, agitating/corrupt parties, and Maoist. Until these three triangles of death are dealt with, Nepal will never have peace again. We the people who live in valley are very unaware of the situation in other parts of the country. On my fieldwork with WHO, I have seen the dark truth of poverty and how it is effecting majority of Nepalese. You won't believe if I tell you that there are people in Nepal who haven't seen Rs. 100 bill, and yet they are in dept of several thousand rupees to the big land lord who falsified paper work. If this is not dictatorship then what is? Our problem won't end until we will provide our people their essential needs -- good education (not just read and write), skills, and jobs (not just industrial. Agriculture should be 1st priority. Only then we can be self-sufficient and won't have to beg India), good healthcare, and security. Now the big question is how do we do it and who will do it? It has to be done by us. People like you and I who have open mind and clear views. We have to get involved. Educated youth of today will be future of tomorrow.
