In the past couple of days there have been few questions raised regarding sajha policies and I would like to attempt to answer those.

1. Nas's World:
As any other user, Nas is free to share images in Ramjham, as long as the images are not pornographic in nature. Although the women are scantily clad, non of the images are pornographic, hence there is no need for admin to intervene on his album. Matter of fact I would like sajha to be guided by the spirit of majority rules - and the views on his album is evidence of majority choice. I would be happy to have a poll regarding this but it would be unnecessary. As far as copyright is involved, each user is agreeing that they are not aware of any copyright infringements when they upload the images. If any form of copyright infringement is notified by the company holding copyrights, then the images will be removed.

This discussion however did have a valid concern for people who don't want to see the images on the front homepage of sajha, and I have attempted to take care of this by creating a "HIDE" link next to the Recently Updated photos link. Visitors who prefer to not see the uploaded images can simply click on the HIDE link and the uploaded photos will not be shown on the front page on that computer browser.

2. Advertisements in Sajha Kurakani:
Almost a year back, I wanted to experiment with a totally unmoderated forum. The result was not very appetizing. You can see the end product of it as it exists at

A non moderated forum quickly turned into advertizers playground. In the above forum, there is no posts besides individuals advertising their products and website.

In order to dissuade people from making sajha kurakani an advertising hell, we ask that people do not advertise their websites in the Kurakani section, but instead use the classifieds section for any advertisements.

Sajha is flexible to let users share interesting sites. Sometimes even multiple attempts at promoting sites are ignored. But, there is such a thing as excess and when someone seems to be intent on promoting their sites multiple times a day, or just too many times, then those postings will be moved to the classifieds section, or in some case even deleted.

As far as complaint as to sajha promoting Indian sites and removing Nepalese sites that's absolutely ridiculous allegation. If a person shares an indian or nepali site in the spirit of sharing, there is no red flags raised, but if a person shares any site with the intent of promotion - which is found out very easily by the person's IP or email and the number of times the person has promoted the link, then there will be a red flag raised.

So the key phrase about sajha kurakani is the 'spirit of sharing'. If your posting is moved over to the classifieds/advertisements section for the 'spirit of advertising', it should not be taken personally!!

3. Money - the root of all evil:
There were some baseless allegation that people who donate are given special priviledges. Everyone falls in the same catagory when it comes to sajha official business. If someone wants to donate or contribute some money to sajha, that does not make the person immune from sajha policies. Having said that, sajha policy is very flexible and lenient, along with the fact that we don't have 24 hours moderation of the site. Few ones will be overlooked simply because of the fact that the postings are not checked 24/7. Few ones will be overlooked because they occur very infrequently. If it starts to become a trend, then action will be taken.

Again, let's not indulge ourselves in tasteless baseless allegations and try to understand that any seemingly unfair steps were taken because of a users continuous inability to follow general etiquettes. Let's try to keep the sajha kurakani clean and free of continuous advertisements and limit your promotion to 1 or 2 postings in the 'spirit of sharing'.

Best wishes.

San,

Thank you for your answer to those questions raised in sajha.

It is good to see that you have put the HIDE button there so that people, who don't want to view the uploaded photos, can use that button. But I found that one has to click on the HIDE button everytime he/she browse the website. Unlike the on/off button you had for Dashain Dhoon, the picture doesn't HIDE as a default after you click the HIDE button. Can't you make it such a way that if somebody hits the HIDE button once then the picture will be hidden till the person hit the OPEN button again even if he/she closes the website and opens it again.

I, personally don't have any problem in viewing those pictures but those who don't want to see those pictures will have to click on the hide button everytime they browse the website. This means they will be embarrased first and then HIDE the pictures.

I had read a post about those pictures somewhere and a poster had said that her mother keeps checking this website and she doesn't like the pictures uploaded in the Ramjham. For those viewers it will be better to have this HIDE and OPEN button made default after they choose one.

Just a thought.

Thanks :-)

" As far as copyright is involved, each user is agreeing that they are not aware of any copyright infringements when they upload the images."

San,
You must be aware that ignorance cannot be an excuse for copyright infringements. By law, you cannot excuse yourself saying that you did not know a particular item was copyrighted. It is your sole responsibility to find out and act accordingly. So, you might want to change your statement/rules.

Fair use

Copyright Act of 1976, 17 U.S.C. § 107

The fair use of a copyrighted work, including such use by reproduction in copies or phonorecords or by any other means specified by that section, for purposes such as criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching (including multiple copies for classroom use), scholarship, or research, is not an infringement of copyright.

Thank you San bro for everything that you represent.

This is a big blow to sites that have been advertising on kurakani at every chance they got. I think some sites base their full marketing campaign by promoting at sajha. mero tube.com, nepalisite.com, nepal123.com, pictures.com.np, callnepal.com, .. These sites should put paid banner ads on sajha instead of cheapening the forum with their opportunistic ads. These sites seem to try to make money by using ads from google and other sites which pay when someone clicks on their ads. I was at nepalisite and more than half the content there were ads. Sajha too used to have those ads but now I only see banner ads which I prefer to see instead of text ads which just makes the site too haphazard.

go to ramjham..
you will see google ads under top 10 viewed albums and also last 10 posted photos.

Go to cybersansar, and tell me whether you will see google ads or not..
Go to their model section--they will trick you...

Go to murchunga.com also..
Look carefully under "POP SONGS, ROCK SONGS, MODERN CONTEMPORARY SONGS "
Look to the right of the image of Andazification. What do you see there? Isn't that to trick you?

Even under "AADHUNIK GEET " towards the bottom next to Narayan Gopal Image..

What about such sites?
I mnot saying they are bad but just giving an example of the placement of ads.

Murchunga--No Offence--You are doing good job...

Out of the sites being mentioned in Sajha--I have seen ads by only theree sites--murchunga.com/tomatotel.com nepalisite.com cybersansar.com over some time.
And these sites have been running for years wit murchunga a new commer site doing well.

And I beleive these sites are big in their own ways. And have made you visit as well

Now about nepal123.com pictures.com.np--I m not sure Looks like helter skelter.

All we should learn is to support our fellow Nepalese rather than discouraging. Need to look at the depth.

But you know my favorite site is
www.thikthak.com --there you can see tonns of google ads--but that don't bother me. Sites do need $$$ to survive thats why there is google ad programamong others.

Cheers.

I agree about the advertisements. Sometimes it gets to a point where it's हग्ने लाई भन्दा देख्नेलाई लाज

nepaltalks.com is pretty messed up. Promotions should be limited otherwise kurakani loses its charm.
Coolnepali you should put a paid banner ad and support sajha instead of taking every opportunity to promote your sites.

coolnepali
I was talking about sajha. I rarely visit ramjham. Mostly only sajha kurakani. I just know that lot of advertising in kurakani makes it annoying. Anyways it seems like sajha allows minimal ads so just don't overdo it if you have to do it.

San Bro
I have only issue over some erotic picture. Could you please make a set up like in google homepage once hide button is clicked, it doesnt appear next time i.e acter closing once and opening the site next time. Unfortunately hide buttone is not working for me and this unwanted picture are still dispaying in my computers. I consider this picture is vulguar as most of these pictures are almost similar to prono sites. No offense please!

Next thought:
At one place in Disclaimer section it is:
=========================
Your use of the Web Site is at your own risk. If you are dissatisfied with any of the Materials or other contents of the Web Site or with these Terms and Conditions, or other policies, your sole remedy is to discontinue use of the Web Site.
======================================
Does this paragraph gives good message? I dobut it.

Camoflaged and cerine thanks for your feedback. Thanks for your kind words.

Bibas, there is no way for sites like hi5 or other large forums to double check every image that gets uploaded into their servers. As long as the user agrees that no copyrighed materials are uploaded and sajha has a broad disclaimer regarding no liability from the use of the site, I think we are okay.

Nas, you are welcome. Please make sure that we keep any foul language in check. Thanks!

Sndy, thanks for your continued moral support. Your support is much appreciated.

Nepalean, if you allow cookies on your browsers the settings should be saved. If it is not being saved then it will help if you go to Tools - Internet Settings - Delete Files - all offline content. That has helped some people get rid of their cookies problems.

Regarding the disclaimer, that's a canned disclaimer for a general forum. Basically since we are all human beings it will not be possible to please everyone. Even out of approx 20,000 registered users, there will be a handful who will not be satisfied regarding few things and it will be impossible to make them happy. Hence that paragraph exists there so that I don't have to keep arguing or bickering with 0.001% of the viewers who are not satisfied with the way the site is run.

Best wishes
