न्यु ह्याम्सर (अमेरिका)‍ , मंसिर १२ - विश्वमा शौचालय प्रयोग नगर्ने जनसंख्या भएको आठौं देशमा नेपाल परेको छ । अपत्यारिलो लाग्ने एउटा प्रतिवेदन भन्छ - नेपालका एक करोड ५० लाख मानिस शौचालय प्रयोग गर्दैनन् । यो करिब ५२ प्रतिशत जनसंख्या हो ।

दशौं विश्व शौचालय दिवस मनाउने क्रममा द क्रिश्चियन साइन्स मनिटरले प्रकाशित गरेको एक समाचारमा भनिएको छ – विश्वका २ अर्बभन्दा बढी मानिस शौचालय जाँदैनन् ।

यस्तो जनसंख्यामा भारत पहिलो छ, जहाँका ६३ करोड ८० लाख पाखा जान्छन् । यो ५४ प्रतिशत भारतीयको संख्या हो । दोस्रोमा इन्डोनेसिया छ, जहाँका २६ प्रतिशत अर्थात् ५ करोड ८० लाख मानिस शौचालय जाँदैनन् । यो सूचीमा चीन तेस्रो छ । ४ प्रतिशत, ५ करोड चिनियाँ बाहिरै विसर्जन गर्छन् । चौथो छ, इथियोपिया । इथियोपियाका ४ करोड ९० लाख अर्थात् १० मा ७ जना मानिसका लागि शौचालय छैन । पाँचौं छ, पाकिस्तान । ४ करोड ८० लाख पाकिस्तानी शौचालय जाँदैनन् ।

यसै सूचीको छैठौं स्थानमा नाइजेरिया छ, त्यहाँका ३ करोड ३० लाख मानिसका लागि शौचालय छैन । नाइजेरियाका यति नै मानिस बाहिर नुहाउँछन् । सुडान छ, सातौं स्थानमा । त्यहाँका १ करोड ७० लाख मानिस शौचालय जाँदैनन्, यो कुल जनसंख्याको ४१ प्रतिशत हो ।

सुडानपछि नेपाल छ भने नेपाललाई ब्राजिल र नाइजरले पछ्याएका छन् । सूचीमा दश देश मात्र समावेश छन् ।

Well, there was enough land for it and as the population growing it needed to be deal differently.
Plan International was helping people different ways and money was given directly to them via depositing into bank ( in past the cashier took half of the charity) and one of them was building a toilet.
Did they spend for the purposes money had given? Heck not, I have seen many people lined up in bank as they heard the money is going to be deposited. One of them has stand by taxi, you can guess.
