As the situation around immigration is becoming unclear and confusing, there are some steps that immigrants can take to become more educated to handle different situations.
Before a Raid
1. Know Your Rights: Everyone in the U.S., regardless of immigration status, has constitutional rights.
- • Right to Remain Silent: You do not have to answer questions about your immigration status.
- • Right to Refuse Entry: ICE cannot enter your home without a warrant signed by a judge.
- • Right to a Lawyer: You have the right to consult an attorney before speaking with ICE.
2. Prepare a Safety Plan:
- • Memorize important phone numbers, especially of an immigration lawyer and family members.
- • Assign a trusted person to care for children or dependents.
- • Keep important documents (passport, immigration papers, birth certificates) in a safe, accessible place.
3. Avoid Providing False Information: Never present fake documents or lie to immigration officials, as this can be used against you.
During a Raid
1. Stay Calm & Silent:
- • Do not resist or run.
- • Say: “I am exercising my right to remain silent.”
2. Do Not Open the Door:
- • Ask the agent to slide the warrant under the door.
- • If it is not signed by a judge, you are not legally required to let them in.
3. Record & Document the Raid:
- • If possible, take photos/videos (where legally allowed).
- • Write down badge numbers and names of agents.
After a Raid
1. Do Not Sign Anything Without a Lawyer:
- • ICE may try to pressure you into signing a voluntary departure order.
- • Always consult an attorney before signing anything.
2. Contact Legal Support:
- • Immigration legal organizations can provide guidance and assistance.
- • Some nonprofits offer emergency hotlines for detained individuals.

To add , If you are legal immerrant , be kind and obey their every command as they cant deport you or arest you, dont exercise any right , if you provoke them they can dig your past and find a way to put in trouble . If you are not legal then first step is dont go walmart , walmart is a trap , dont open door n if caught , exercise every right as mentioned above , you will be deported anyways but will give u extra time to miracle to hapen
