Hello, I recently got my US Citizenship. Is relinquishment of Nepali citizenship mandatory process ? I checked the Nepalese embassy website and looks like it's a fairly straight process. I have many friends who are naturalized US citizens. When inquiring about the relinquishment of Nepalese citizenship, they don't have a clue and haven't done any formal relinquishment process. Perhaps, our Nepalese law isn't clear and there's no mechanism to cross check of dual citizenship in Nepal. What are the consequences if I don't relinquish Nepalese citizen ? I believe if you do want to get a Non Resident Nepali (NRN) ID, you will have send the Nepali citizenship relinquishment documents. Any information is appreciated.
