Came to know that there is accelerated nursing program for people already having bachelors degree in any other field. The duration is 16 months only. But found the fees very expensive, its 74,000 USD for 16 months of tuition in North Eastern University. Does anybody know any other affordable universities in any other states. Please suggest.

74 k for BRN is not expensive considering its output..u get paid well over 100 k , get job of ur satisfaction, will give u house, car of ur choice better education n everything u need..look for a broad picture.. those who hesitate spending on practical education are often left left behind working in gas station, beauty parlor, caregiver, mcdonalds, receptionist, teller, QA, BA etc, n those are the ones who get frustrated with life too early ( considering im one of those, it professional consultancy wala).. noone has this sum of money life goes on with credit card, high interest educational loans n so on, im spending my sister over 150K (all in debt ) for her dentistry.. so if u have passion go for it...its worth

Some of The nurses I know don't make that much Plus it's a hard job in between patients and docs. Is it really worth it ? I mean a ba or QA makes the same amount of money

@ehoo2 there are various categorical nurses..most of the nurse we know are either nursing aide, AAS nurse, CNA nurse, social work nurse n so on...non of these are paid good ( 25-30hr) ..the nursing program this guy talking about is BSN RN by north eastern university and and many more universities...duration is 18-20 month high end training..u need to have at least bachelors degree in relevant field to top up or equivalent nursing form nepal or any other country...one of my known relative is having same type of degree now c is earning approx 200/hr in california.. cz icu nurse, c only has to take care of at 2 patients a day..unlike u said these nurse dont do typical simple job as u mentioned like taking BP cleaning n all..they are highly trained, yes of course work is very hard ( more than hard its responsible job ), they work 12 hrs shift duty 6-6. 7-7 pattern but 3 days a week making 36 hrs a week, if they work more than 40 hrs pay is even more... but most of nepalese or other foreign nationalities only have basic AAS nursing qualifications mostly from community collages , either they are scared to to invest money in education or they are mean..when they have money they send bank home ( unproductive investment ) . 200/hr seems unbelievable for a nurse but the girl im referring to has a beautiful house which c pays mortgage 4100/month have two decent cars n a baby boy( all expenses) ..husband hardly works. so the earning is solely ( mostly from her )

@ujl a bhai yar mc donalds ma kam garya jasto hora ICU ko kam sidai 40* 4 garna lai . maile mathi bhani sake 36 hrs biweekly bhanera. so 36*2*200 = 14400 month . which after tax sud be around 10000 a month ( guessing) ...c pays 4100 mortgage/month for house, insurgence for 2 cars ghar kharcha.. educational debts e etc shows cz earning 8-10 K.. things to be noted not every nurse earn that bill, n not every state.. plus years of experience count in this business... earning depends in which rotation ur working like cardiology , neonatal, Emergency dept etc ... these professionals have certain protocols to follow like after working certain hours u have to take certain time off etc...qualified nurses working in hing end private practice even earn more...but all nurses dnt earn that much.. it greatly differs in ur qualification, experience, geographical location..i have seen nurses earning as low as 80K in some facilities..

working in icu n icu certified nurse are two different things, some nurse work in icu for general purpose like any other ward, while searching job in indeed search for critical care certified registered nurse approved by AACN. u can obtain this certificate only after getting at least BSN. if you have this certification and few years of working experience in can give you some informations about the hospital and clinics that pays you excellent ( least 150)

Good thing about medical field is you more likely get a permanent job. I’m not sure about traveling and project duration style job such as QA or BA. However if you do traveling RN job, you easily could bring 80-100 per hour working in ICU or surgery.

Nurse practitioner( NP ), nursing instructor, professors, etc earns good bunch, no doubt on that not sure how much an hour but typically make 180/200K a year, n yes of course all of these need university degree which is very expensive. non degree nurse live on relatively very low wage like 40/50 hr some even less
