Recently I applied for naturalization based on Five years for residency and Had my biometric taken on 3rd week of November 2017. Now when I checked the status on line it shows estimate time as 22 months. Does it really take this long or they (USCIS) will update this time by time and estimate time will be shorter in future. Anyone gone thru this or have some info please share. Thank you.

Depends on which state you have applied from. On average it's like 6 months from the day you post your application. I applied on end of Dec last year and interview on June third week with oath ceremony on the first week of August.

Average 6 months is no longer valid anymore after Trump. Lots of people are on converting to citizen because of fear from Trump.
